Things could be different.

All I needed from you was an apology.

It seems like such a small thing to ask for.

Summer.

I used to watch this all the time when I was tiny... and the song in this cartoon popped into my head the other day and I went and found it.

Gosh, being a kid was fun.

Mother's Day.

For the last 5 years, Amanda and I have gone on adventures on Mother's Day. For us, it's a celebration of the nice weather and of our friendship, and for me it's a nice way to remember my mom. This year we both had to work, but we managed to get together in the evening and had a lovely night catching up, eating pie, and taking photos. Here are some of my favorites.

I'm so grateful to have this tradition with one of my loveliest and best friends. I can't wait until next year!

Maybe I'm just not looking,

but oh my God does life in New York look like life on Mars from here.
These photos by Todd Fisher turn me on. (And you thought I was all about gloves and flower petals, didn't you?) It's all the joys of Nan Goldin without the bad hair, and I can't get enough.
Lets see if I can use these as inspiration for my own photographs in the coming month.

I could go on forever but I'd better stop there.
I feel change in the air, and inspiration is coming at me everywhere I look. I guess that's what Spring is for! Keep an eye out... I may be heading in a new direction.
Happy Friday!

I don't want to talk about healthcare.
Or taxes, or fears, or scene politics.
I don't care that such-and-such can't let go of the past, or that such-and-such thinks my daddy is rich, or that such-and-such thinks they are more intelligent than everyone, or that such-and-such thinks he/she knows something about my life, hopes, and goals. Your jealousy and regret don't become you (nor does being bat-shit crazy.)
It's easy to forget that you don't know everything when you still don't know the things you don't know. Perhaps we should all sit down together and eat a slice of humble pie. I'll have one too.

It's all just preposterous.

Why am I so incredibly annoyed with people? It makes me feel sure that there are people equally as annoyed with me. Who gives a shit about the photo I posted today of some thing I did? How pretentious and obnoxious of me to think that people want to follow me in my progress as a photographer, as a person.

I literally talked myself into hating the internet today because of the dribble that people spew on it under the impression that they have some sort of exemption from accountability in real life. It's just a screen and the click of a button, and it's out of your control. How incredibly foreboding for our future as social beings.
